Your first cosmetic consultation is complimentary. Invisalign aligners are custom fit for your mouth.  During your first complimentary visit, a dental professional will take impressions and pictures of your teeth to find out if you are a good candidate for Invisalign. If the doctor finds that you are a good candidate we will then send the pictures and impressions to Invisalign who will make a digital model of the your mouth.  You can look over the digital model at either one of our convenient locations in North Peoria, or East Peoria, Illinois.  The digital model shows you exactly how your teeth will move over the course of the next few months.  You can also see a final product of what your teeth will look like after the Invisalign procedure.

If you do decide to go through with Invisalign the doctor will accept the treatment online and your new aligners will arrive at Maple Shade shortly after they are ordered.  Invisalign is designed so that every two weeks you will switch to a new aligner.  Depending on your progress you may receive between two and three Invisalign aligners per visit.  Each aligner is designed so that it moves your teeth closer to the ending position.  The doctor will have you come back as needed to check your tooth movement progress and make sure the aligners are working correctly.  The Invisalign aligners are to be worn as much as possible.  The more you wear Invisalign aligners the faster your teeth will move.  Once the Invisalign treatment is finished you will be given a retainer to be worn at night so your teeth stay in position.

Zoom 2 raises the bar to a new level averaging eight shades of color change per procedure.  Some patients have even seen a color change as high as 12 shades lighter.  Patients should realize that yellow stained teeth usually show the greatest improvements.  Coffee, tobacco, tea, red wines, red sauces, etc. are all foods that stain our teeth.  The Zoom whitening treatment works to whiten deep stains in the enamel of the tooth.  Most over-the-counter bleaching kits only whiten the surface of the enamel causing them to have shorter lasting effects.  The light-activated Zoom gel works to penetrate deep into the pores of the enamel and whiten as much of the stain as possible.  Amorphous Calcium Phosphate1 (ACP) technology provides the superior whitening results.  Reduced contact time, ACP chemistry, combined with a new balancing agent ensure the lowest possible discomfort and sensitivity for new patients.  Many patients are sensitivity free and have little to no sensitivity at all.

The ViziLite requires a pre-exam rinse and is suggested as a complimentary procedure for a traditional oral screening.  The flavored rinse reveals abnormal cells by chemiluminescence, which means that they glow under the activation light.  You then must mark the lesions detected with TBlue solution so they can be photographed.  In a study found in the Journal of Oral and Maxilofacial Surgery although the rinse accentuated some lesions, the overall detection rate was not significantly improved.  The chemiluminescent light produced reflections that made visualization more difficult and thus was not beneficial (Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Volume 65, Issue 3, pages 424-426).

The VELscope is FDA approved and has proven to be a much easier detector of oral cancer.  It takes less than five minutes and requires no rinse.  VELscope uses a light for detection of abnormal cells.  In two minutes or less, you can determine whether a person has oral mucosal abnormalities.  The VELscope has the ability to look deep into the tissue of the mouth and detect abnormalities even before they reach the surface or become visible.  The VELscope won the REALTY Publishing Award in early 2008 for it’s great design.
