When I was a young boy I had a large gap between my teeth and they stuck out to the point where I didn’t like to smile with my mouth open. Also my brothers used to tease me about my teeth so I became very self-conscience about the way my teeth looked. In my teens my parents had me go to an orthodontist and I was fitted for braces. After a few years when I turned 16 the braces were removed and I had perfect teeth for the first time in my life. I was finally comfortable smiling with an open mouth and wasn’t self-conscience anymore. I did have to wear a retainer every night, which I gladly accepted, knowing my teeth would stay perfect.
A few years later when I turned twenty years old I flew to Europe to help my sister move from Germany to Greece. Unfortunately on a ferry to Greece I had my retainer in my back pocket and sat on it, breaking it in half. I tried to super glue it together to no avail. I was in Europe for several months and didn’t go see an orthodontist. After returning to the states I neglected to go back to an orthodontist so my teeth have been gradually returning to my pre-braces form.
I’m now 52 years old and since my daughter is getting married in June I thought it would be nice to have my teeth looking good for her wedding. I talked to Dr. Willey and he suggested using Invisalign since it only took six months to bring my teeth back together. Unfortunately because of the length of time I waited before addressing the movement of my teeth, the Invisalign couldn’t remove all the spaces. Since braces would take much longer they wouldn’t be ready for the wedding. I decided to go with Invisalign and Dr. Willey would fill the remaining gaps with composite material to make my teeth look good without the spaces.
I just finished the Invisalign which pulled my teeth back and brought my front four teeth together. Dr. Willey filled the gaps on the sides and fitted me for a retainer to complete the process. I am amazed at the final results in just six months.
Thank you Dr. Willey for doing such a great job in such a short time. My teeth look better then they have in 30 years and I will be happy to show a full smile at my daughter’s wedding this summer.
